My rating - 2/5
Disclaimer: I thought that this was a wonderful book and would still recommend it! Personally, I was unable to grasp the plot up until the end, but this can be easily blamed on my behalf.

I hate to give ratings this low, but I found myself continuously lost throughout the book and couldn't quite make sense of the story. I can not blame this on the author/translator since it is evident how much work was put into this novel, but I do wish some points of the book were further clarified.
For example, I'm not sure if it was even implied that (view spoiler)[Buha was Wolfi, (hide spoiler)] if that even was the case. Please be encouraged to correct me if I'm wrong, but (view spoiler)[much of Buha's storyline was irrelevant to the rest of the novel when Wolfi was introduced. (hide spoiler)] I do hope I'm wrong, but even if I was, it shows how ambiguous the story was.
Additionally, there were many points in the story that seemed significant, but were never brought back up. Just to name a few, (view spoiler)[the man who threatened to kill Ayami at the theater, the girl on her period with the grey skirt, and even Ayami's siblings. (hide spoiler)]
I do believe everything I'm criticizing was intentional. The entire point of the novel was to blur the line between fiction and reality, after all. Albeit fascinating, I was totally and completely lost.

Why I gave 2 stars rather than 1:
As I mentioned earlier, this novel was great at its job. I simply believe that what the author was trying to acheive was too ambitious to make total sense on paper. Though, it was definitely an amazing attempt. I wish I could have enjoyed this book more than I did. I will probably read it again in the distant future to see if my opinion on it has changed.
