Starting Anew

All the choices we make;

Bold, almost snobbish,

Conspicuous questions we ask ourselves

Day after day.

Every time said questions arise,

For every one, an answer is given.

Gray area in the rules

Hostilely ignored.

I can’t handle rejection.

Just another day,

Kingly facades over monsters we call our friends

Lay low on sunny days

Make plain when it rains.

Never lose yourself in others,

Only if it were so easy.

Puddles of rain are gone in the morning,

Quiet seeds blooming in its place.

Red-carpet opportunities granted unreasonably to me

Stumble into a quagmire of my own making.

The moon appears and reappears,

Ultimately, fading into the darkness.

Vile words are forgotten

Whenever a smile stays a memory.

Xeric deserts that occupy our minds

Yearn for just a sliver of acceptance.

Zs flood my eyes

And I start anew.
